McDermott, Tovar lead Force Wrestlers at Winter Nationals

On Saturday, November 23rd seven Force Elite wrestlers traveled to Niles West High School and competed in the USA Wrestling Winter Nationals which featured a field of 650 wrestlers from around the midwest.  All seven wrestlers picked up multiple wins on the day, and two wrestled their way to the podium and earned medals.

Finn McDermott and Leo Tovar turned in solid performances as each made it to the finals in their respected weight classes. McDermott competed at 62 lbs in the 8U division and came away with first place after posting 5 straight wins including 4 by pin in the 21 man bracket.

Tovar wrestled four times in the heavyweight class of the 14U division enroute to a 2nd placed finish. Tovar came out strong pinning his first 3 opponents before falling in the championship match.

Force wrestlers resume action on December 8th when the team travels to the Oak Forest Green & White Tournament to open the 2019-20 regular season .
