COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, IL This upcoming IKWF season will be like no other we have ever had in our 50 year history. The IKWF, IL/USAW, and USAW priority is the safety and well-being of our wrestlers, coaches, officials, and volunteers.

The IKWF and IL/USAW will strictly follow the guidance provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) All Sports Policy. Wrestling has been placed in the higher risk category. Wrestling is in Level 1, which allows non-contact practices and training only. You cannot have contact with another wrestler or coach during practice.

At this time, the IKWF and IL/USAW is going to plan for practices beginning on January 2, 2021 contingent upon wrestling moving to Level 2 in the All Sports Policy.

Competitions would be allowed to begin on January 16, 2021, contingent upon wrestling is in Level 3 of the All Sports Policy. Level 3 will be dual meets with teams in your Restore Illinois COVID region. NO INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM TOURNAMENTS WILL TAKE PLACE UNTIL WRESTLING IS IN LEVEL 4 OF THE ALL SPORTS POLICY AS DESCRIBED BY THE IDPH.

USAW, the IKWF, and IL/USAW will begin selling club charters, wrestling leader, and athlete memberships on September 1, 2020. TOURNAMENTS, OF ANY TYPE, WILL NOT BE APPROVED BY THE IKWF UNTIL WRESTLING HAS REACHED LEVEL 4 OF THE ALL SPORTS POLICY.

The IKWF and IL/USAW will continue to support the All Sports Policy guidance provided by the IDPH. If you are in violation of the order, you and your club are subject to all penalties issued by the IDPH and all local health departments.

The IKWF and IL/USAW will continue to follow this very fluid situation and will address these dates based upon the guidance provided by the CDC, IDPH, and USAW. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these very challenging times.
